Catalog description

This is a one-semester course covering basic concepts in general chemistry: introduction to the particulate nature of matter, the quantitative nature of chemistry, and chemical reactions. While this course emphasizes conceptual understanding of general chemistry content, students are expected to have a working knowledge of basic math including simple algebra. This course does not meet the requirements of most science majors, science options or pre-professional programs. Pre- or Co-requisites: MATH 146, 147, 149, 156, 166 or math placement of 70 or higher.
