Catalog description

This course introduces students to advanced cell culture methods for maintaining, growing and differentiating stem/progenitor cells used for tissue engineering to develop and study "artificial tissues" in-vitro. A series of inter-related group research projects will be conducted throughout the semester which are designed to develop both practical laboratory skills in stem cells and tissue engineering and to enhance student understanding of the basic content knowledge of the subject. Prerequisite: BIOL 240. (As offered)
