Catalog description

This course serves as a general introduction to fundamental concepts in Biology: cell structure, function, and reproduction; energy transformations, genetics and molecular biology, evolution, and ecosystems. The laboratory component is an extended research project that continues in BIOL 195 the subsequent semester. Prerequisites: Freshman standing and academic preparation sufficient for Math 146 and ENGL 100, or consent of the instructor. (F)
