Catalog description

Biological evolution is an elegant and powerful set of concepts, yet evolutionary thinking is still misunderstood and rejected by many people. This course explores the entire sweep of evolutionary history on earth: from viruses and bacteria to plants, fungi, and animals (including humans). Students will learn the fundamentals of biological evolution and consider the explanatory power of evolution as a way of understanding and predicting the biological world: past, present, and future.
