Epigenomics: Principles and Methods

Catalog description
This course provides students with the opportunity to understand the complete set of epigenetic modifications and their functional implications across an organism’s entire genome. These modifications play a critical role in regulating which genes are activated or silenced across diverse cell types and environmental conditions. This course provides an in-depth exploration of scientific methodologies commonly employed to investigate epigenomic modifications, with a particular focus on their implications within animal industries. Students will gain proficiency in analyzing epigenomic data. In addition, they will develop the skills necessary to design and execute scientific experiments aimed at addressing fundamental epigenomic inquiries. Prerequisites: ANSC 257 or BIOL 350.
