Catalog description

Students will examine the currently accepted goals and standards of science, social studies, and environmental education in elementary and middle schools. Students will develop their pedagogical knowledge in inquiry teaching approaches, with a focus on similarities between teaching science and social studies, and an understanding of what makes each discipline unique at different grade levels. The course will also assess students' understanding of statutory requirements for licensure related to environmental education and conservation in Wisconsin.
