Catalog description

This course provides a practical understanding of common precision agriculture hardware and software components used in crop production systems. Topics include GPS guidance systems, variable rate application technology, data collection and validation, section control, and autonomous operations. Emphasis will be placed on the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of precision technologies to develop hands-on skills and evaluate system capabilities. Students will gain experience with field-based applications and learn how precision technology improves efficiency, productivity, and sustainability in modern agricultural systems. Components: Laboratory, Class Prereqs/Coreqs: P: SCSCI 3280 or consent of instructor Typically Offered: Fall - odd year
