Catalog description

Fluid properties; pressure, hydrostatics, and buoyancy; control volume analysis; mass, momentum, and energy conservations for moving fluids; Euler's equation and the Bernoulli's theorem applied to inviscid flows; dimensional analysis and similitude; viscous fluid flows, flow through pipes; boundary layers, and lift and drag on objects; compressible flows. Components: Laboratory, Class Prereqs/Coreqs: P: "C-" or better in ( MATH 2840 and MECHENG 2630 ), and a C- or better in ( GENENG 2230 or ENGRPHYS 3240 ) Typically Offered: Fall - Spring
