Catalog description

This introductory course focuses on the principles and practices of skills-based health education, and emphasizing the development of health literacy, functional health knowledge, and the application of participatory instructional methods. Students will explore a wide range of health topics through the lens of the National Health Education Standards (NHES), developing essential health skills such as decision-making, analyzing influences, interpersonal communication, goal-setting, and advocacy.
