Catalog description

This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts and principles of prestressed concrete design and construction. The course will cover the basics of prestressing, including flexure, shear, and bond stresses, as well as the different types of prestressing systems, materials, and construction methods. Students are expected to have a basic understanding of structural design and materials engineering and should have completed at least one full undergraduate class on each of the following: Mechanics of Materials, Structural Analysis and Reinforced Concrete Design.
