Catalog description

Overview of major historical and cultural developments of the Spanish-speaking Americas from the time of European contact (1492) through the colonial period, national struggles for independence, and popular revolutions until the 21st century. Exploration of modern Latin America by region, with particular focus on how artistic, spiritual and other forms of cultural expression in each region can be understood as the result of a confluence of five centuries of indigenous, African disaporic, and Iberian/European influence.
