An introduction to the field of dance, this course examines the ideas, concepts, and trends important to studies in dance through lecture, readings, studio experience, and discussion. This course provides an overview of Western dance forms and esthetics, professional standards and practices related to rehearsal/productions, career options in dance, basic human anatomy, injury prevention, and conditioning for dance.
