This course is an introduction to the core ideas, history, and institutional structures that shape global governance in the 21st century. The course moves beyond abstract theories to explore the persistent challenges of managing global problems - from international security and economic development to climate change and human rights - in the absence of a world government. This examination requires students to develop data literacy by actively engaging with and interpreting real-world data, global indicators, and policy metrics from leading international sources. This applied analysis culminates in hands-on, case-based policy simulations and a major institutional design project where students develop and justify actionable solutions and recommendations to help guide the future of international cooperation.
