Catalog description

This course provides an introduction to the principles of classical physics and engineering technology focusing on the behavior of matter and energy in various forms. Topics include the mechanical and thermal properties of solids and fluids; the transfer of heat; the laws of thermodynamics; mechanical, sound, and electromagnetic waves; and optics. Prerequisite: PHY 104 or PHY 204 ; MTH 208 or concurrent enrollment. Offered Fall.
