Catalog description

This course covers the principles of nuclear radiation physics and imaging instrumentation used in nuclear medicine. Emphasis is placed on radioactive decay, radiation interactions, planar and SPECT imaging systems, quality control procedures, reconstruction methods, and basic statistical analysis related to image quality and system performance. Prerequisite: admission to the NMT Program; assignment to a clinical internship site. Offered Annually.
