This course explores the development and global presence of the varieties of fascisms during the 20th century. Beginning with the establishment of the Fascist Party in Italy, the course investigates its national variants in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Particular attention is given to the visual culture and aesthetics of global fascist movements, their impact on gender, and their influence on political culture in the decades after World War II.
