Catalog description

This course examines the role that ordinary African men and women played in ending colonialism and forming new nations from the 1910s through the present. The course focuses on the processes of creating groups with collective goals, and the ways in which Africans articulated and contested their political visions for the future in the context of decolonization and the Cold War.
