Catalog description

This course maps the history of women in South Asia. While the primary emphasis is colonial and post-colonial South Asia, the course begins with ancient India and traces women's history through the medieval period. Students survey the historical institutions, practices, and traditions that define the position of South Asian women. CGER CP-CW Civics & Perspective: Cultures of Our World. Offered Occasionally.
