Introduction to Hoocak Language and Culture I

Catalog description

The goal of this course is to have students perform consistently at the Novice Mid proficiency level on the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines. This course introduces students to the Hoocak language and guides them in developing Novice Low - Mid proficiency in speaking, listening, reading and writing. At the end of the course, students are able to engage in simple conversations within the limits of practiced vocabulary and common sentence structure. This course integrates all competencies in the instruction of the Hoocak language and culture for the standards of Communication, Culture, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities, as outlined in the Hoocak Language Standards, which align with the World Readiness Standards for Learning.
