Assessment in Adapted Physical Education

Catalog description

This course presents standardized tests and authentic procedures for assessing the gross motor development, motor skill performance, and health-related physical activity/fitness of persons with disabilities. Students learn to select, administer, and interpret assessment instruments and how to use results to develop the physical education components of individualized education programs (IEPs) as the basis for instructional programs. Types of assessment decisions and the K-12 special education eligibility and service delivery process are studied. Prerequisite: ESS 331 ; admission to physical, adapted, and school health education.
