Catalog description

This course prepares 21st century globally responsive citizens through an exploration of global issues as they interact within systems of education. Students examine the cultural, economic, political, and social layers of global challenges, such as global migration, poverty, and climate change. Using a case study approach, students analyze diverse educational perspectives on these challenges, exploring how local education responds (or not) to global issues. Students develop a reflective stance related to varying cultural perspectives on and understandings of education. CGER CP-CW Civics & Perspective: Cultures of Our World. Prerequisite: EDS 206 . Offered Fall, Spring, Summer.
