Advancing Biological Science

Catalog description
This discussion-based course is designed to introduce biology undergraduate students to scientific literacy and writing, data presentation, and the scientific process. Students explore diverse careers in the biological sciences. Students are expected to actively participate in journal article discussions on major issues and developments in the biological sciences. Students develop a short literature review and present a seminar on a contemporary biological topic using primary literature to articulate their understanding of research findings. Prerequisite: completed one biology course at UW-La Crosse; biology major/minor. Offered Fall, Spring.
