Feminist and Queer Praxis

Catalog description
This practicum course provides students with hands-on experience in feminist and queer praxis through active engagement with campus and community initiatives. Under the supervision of a Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies faculty member, students collaborate to design, implement, and evaluate public-facing projects that promote gender equity, LGBTQ+ inclusion, and social justice. Projects may include organizing events, producing digital content, facilitating workshops, supporting the Pride Center, or creating other initiatives that cultivate feminist and queer community on and beyond campus. Emphasis is placed on critical reflection, collaboration, and translating intersectional theory into practice. Course is repeatable for credit; may be taken 2 times for a total of 6 earned credits. P: WOST 102 or WOST 241 Fall and Spring.
