Exploration of family violence from a sociological perspective examining the nature, prevalence, contributing factors, and consequences with a specific focus on the operations of power and agency. This course is organized by key forms of family violence, including intimate partner violence, child abuse, elder abuse, sibling violence, and entangled victims, with a focus on theoretical frameworks, cultural factors, and social policies.
