Combines earth sciences and natural sciences with mapping and planning to understand key aspects of adapting our built environment to not impose further on our natural environments, and in fact to remediate some of the damage caused to natural environments and social well-being. Emphasizes adaptive environmental planning and implementation at the national, state, and local levels in the contexts of growing human populations, decreasing natural resources, and climate change.
