Catalog description

This course introduces students to modern industrial automation and smart manufacturing technologies through direct interaction with industry-grade equipment. Students will learn the fundamentals of motor control, advance programmable logic controllers (PLCs), advance mechatronics systems, process control systems, and Industry 4.0 technologies. Key focus areas include system operation, programming, troubleshooting, and integration of smart sensors, industrial networks, and cloud-based data systems. Course emphasizes real-world applications using equipment such as tabletop mechatronics, process control trainers, and smart controls workstations. P: MET 380 with a C or higher.
