Catalog description
Applying introductory concepts of finite element methods like direct stiffness, energy and/or weighted residual methods in analytically solving linear and nonlinear structural and thermal problems. Introduces common finite element programs used in academia and industry. Formulate 1D, 2D and 3D elements models. Comparison of exact solutions with approximate finite element predictions P: MET 207 with a C or higher, ME 204 with a C or higher, and ME 220 with a C or higher Fall Only.
