Catalog description

An introduction to the use of biological databases and analytical tools to explore DNA, RNA, and protein data. Students gain hands-on experience with bioinformatics tools for sequence alignment, database searches, and genome analysis, with an emphasis on interpreting biological meaning from large datasets. No prior programming or computing knowledge necessary. P: BIOLOGY 303 or HUM BIOL 310 or instructor permission Spring.
