This course provides an introduction to the field of mobile computing, exploring the fundamental concepts, technologies, and applications that enable the use of mobile devices in modern computing environments. Students will learn about mobile systems' architecture and design principles, including hardware and software components, wireless networks, mobile operating systems, and application development. The course emphasizes hands-on experience with mobile application design, development, and deployment across various platforms such as Android and iOS. Additionally, the course will cover topics such as security, performance optimization, and mobile data management. By the end of the course, students will have the foundational knowledge necessary to develop mobile applications and understand the key challenges and trends in the mobile computing landscape. P: COMP SCI 330 or COMP SCI 316 with at least a C grade Fall Only.
