Catalog description

Identification and natural history of plants indigenous to the Great Lakes region. Students will become proficient at using keys to identify unknown plants to the species level, be able to identify at sight the woody plants of northeastern Wisconsin, be able to recognize major plant communities of Wisconsin, and gain an understanding of basic organismal botany. An all-day field trip during one weekend day in mid-September is required. P: BIOLOGY 201 / 202 with at least a C grade and BIOLOGY 203 / 204 with at least a C grade, or transfer course Biology 003.
