Catalog description

This course will provide students with practical, hands-on experience in horticulture and managing a greenhouse. Students will gain skills in plant propagation (including starting plants from seed), maintenance of climate control, and integrated pest management, with an emphasis on sustainable and pesticide-free practices. Students will assist with the planning and execution of the annual Natural and Applied Sciences heirloom plant sale, providing experience in inventory management, marketing and customer service. Students completing BIOLOGY 293 can subsequently enroll in BIOLOGY 493. P: Consent of instructor Spring.
