Catalog description
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the field of child language development. It serves as a foundational course to professional practice across multiple fields. Students learn how language develops and functions in everyday interactions. Social and cultural processes that drive and influence development are explored, as well as the relationship between language and cognitive development. Students are exposed to multiple learning theories and important considerations for multilingual learners.
