This course explores neurobiological foundations, focusing on the biological and physiological factors contributing to psychiatric-mental health (PMH) conditions. It covers anxiety and depressive disorders, highlighting clinical presentation, screening methods, diagnostic tools, and differential diagnoses across the lifespan. Substance use disorders (SUD), Attention disorders, and sleep disorders will also be examined, including their causes and treatment options. Additionally, the course introduces the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and its application in clinical practice.
