Catalog description
People analytics is a data-driven approach to managing people at work. People are the most valuable asset in most organizations who convert strategy and capital into long-term value. For the first time in history, business leaders can make decisions about their people based on data rather than traditional methods including, hear-say, heuristics, rules of thumb, and gut feelings. This course is designed to prepare students to: (1) understand the types of problems that can be addressed using people analytics, (2) design studies and collect data on people in organizations, (3) analyze and interpret human resource data, and (4) communicate analytical and statistical results in a way that influences decisions. The course will involve using data analysis and statistics to solve organizational problems.
