Catalog description

This course is designed to help you integrate and apply the knowledge and skills you have gained in the PETE program so far, while also pushing you to expand your thinking and grow as an educator. We will explore pedagogical knowledge and teaching strategies used for teaching fundamental motor skills to elementary aged children. You will also develop a strong understanding of the skill themes approach and learn how to design developmentally appropriate instruction that supports student growth and engagement. This course will also provide hands-on teaching experiences through our Homeschool PE program, giving you authentic opportunities to practice and refine your teaching in real-world settings.
