Catalog description

Introductory general, organic, and biochemistry intended to develop a broad understanding of human health and disease. Emphasis on stoichiometry, solution preparation, and chemical equilibrium as it relates to the biological activity of molecules applied to living systems. Additional topics include essential organic chemistry transformations and a survey of the chemistry of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and biomolecules. The course content supports a broader understanding of human health and disease.
