Advanced UAS Operations

Catalog description

This course provides students with advanced training in UAS operations using aircraft designed for long-range, high-endurance, and complex mission profiles. Emphasis is placed on preparing for operations that move toward Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS), including the use of fixed-wing and hybrid platforms, extended flight planning, and advanced ground control systems. Students will learn the technical and regulatory considerations of operating larger and more capable UAS, with a strong focus on safety, redundancy, and mission execution in challenging environments. Practical training will highlight how advanced aircraft can expand capabilities across industries such as infrastructure inspection, agriculture, logistics, and environmental monitoring.
