Catalog description

This course serves to provide and reinforce the technical nursing skills essential for the role of the Mental Health Technician with an emphasis on infection control, safety, and documentation. It also includes the advance skills related to ostomy care, catheterization care, oxygen, suctioning, and care of clients receiving intravenous infusion therapy. Supervised skills labs assist the student in learning and practicing the skills and supervised clinical provide opportunities to apply those skills. The role of the Mental Health Technician is emphasized.
