Catalog description

This course provides the introduction in a three part series of instruction which is designed to provide students with a broad and basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production principles. In this course, students will explore a variety of topics that offer not only an understanding of manufacturing as an industry but also manufacturing as a career pathway. Using federal and nationally recognized standards, this coursework focuses on topics pertinent to manufacturing operation and production including the major components of manufacturing, the types of manufacturing processes, the key elements of production planning, industry specific opportunities in manufacturing and career field specific opportunities in manufacturing.
