Catalog description
This course provides long-term projects that address real life design situation. It will develop competencies in solving design problems. Technical and conceptual concerns, color theory, lighting technology, scale, materials selection, and creative design articulation through presentation and illustrations are critical elements for this class. Development of invoicing techniques, material selection, working within codes and standards and working with a budget is emphasized in the course. Students will be working with real time case studies. Students may be invited to participate in events such as the Wichita Area Building Associations (WABA) Parade of Homes. Focus is on Residential and Commercial design.
