Catalog description

This course provides applied training in the setup, operation, and coordination of heavy equipment used in earthmoving and site preparation. Students will develop proficiency in operating loaders and backhoes to perform excavation, trenching, grading, and material-handling tasks. Emphasis is placed on interpreting site plans, establishing grades, and applying safe work practices while optimizing efficiency across multiple types of equipment. Students will demonstrate equipment readiness, operational technique, and production accuracy through field-based performance evaluations.
