This course focuses on the diagnosis of diesel engine performance concerns using industry-standard testing procedures and manufacturer specifications. Students will develop advanced skills in identifying engine-related issues through the use of diagnostic tools, electronic control systems, and performance data analysis. Instruction emphasizes systematic troubleshooting of fuel delivery, air induction, exhaust, and electronic management systems to determine root causes of performance problems. Hands-on training includes interpreting fault codes, analyzing sensor and actuator signals, and applying step-by-step diagnostic strategies to ensure accurate and efficient repairs. Upon completion, students will be able to perform comprehensive diagnostics that support optimal engine operation, reliability, and compliance with emissions standards.
