Distribution Line Maintenance

Catalog description

This course provides advanced training in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems. Students will perform detailed pole and line inspections, maintain pole-mounted equipment, and replace essential hardware such as crossarms, insulators, arresters, and switches. The course also covers re-conductoring procedures, transformer replacement, fault location in underground residential distribution (URD) systems, and load management coordination. Emphasis is placed on safety, preventive maintenance, and industry-standard practices to ensure reliable operation of distribution systems.
