Catalog description

This course introduces students to the tools, materials, and equipment used in the power line industry. Students will learn the proper selection, inspection, care, and safe use of hand tools, power tools, and specialty equipment required for linework. Instruction covers aerial framing practices, utility hardware identification and installation, and the operation of utility service equipment. Hands-on training emphasizes correct application of tools and equipment to construct and maintain distribution systems in accordance with industry standards.
