Introduction to Kinesiology

Catalog description
In this introductory course, students wishing to explore Kinesiology will be exposed to an interdisciplinary field of study that includes seven sub-disciplines which comprise core elements of the major. Students will examine these areas of study from scientific, applied and experiential perspectives. Moreover, students will study fundamental concepts associated with each sub-discipline, how they fit with areas of emphasis (pre-physical therapy, sport management, etc.) and explore these concepts within research and applied contexts (written assignments, interactive mini-labs, oral presentations, and interviews).
