Catalog description

This course serves as an introduction to the history of California, from pre-colonial times to the present. Topics to be covered include Native American histories and early encounters with European peoples, the Spanish colonial missions, the Mexican era, the California Gold Rush, immigration and cultural diversity, the Progressive Era, Japanese internment, and movements of protest and activism.
