Catalog description

The purpose of this course is to provide prospective teachers with a comprehensive overview of California laws, policies, procedures, and resources related to maintaining school safety and promoting student health. The modules embedded in this course will help you access resources associated with promoting student health and safety. The goals of this course are to (1) teach you the CA laws that govern school safety plans; (2) help you understand the various resources provided to K-12 school employees and parents by the California Department of Education; (3) provide you with experiences developing lesson plans informed by resources related to student health and safety.
