Instructional Methods for Students with Mild to Moderate Support Needs

Catalog description
This course provides candidates with an instructional framework focused on the delivery of explicit instruction to prepare for and teach lessons to students with mild to moderate support needs. Foundational knowledge on classroom instruction, differentiation, universal design for learning, and service delivery models is provided. Additional emphasis is placed on preparing pre-service education specialists to teach children to read. Individuals taking this course must earn at least a B- for the course to count toward a preliminary credential. *40 hours of fieldwork are required.
