Catalog description

The course provides students with an understanding of the characteristics of children with disabilities as defined under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Students will examine a variety of developmentally and ability-appropriate instructional strategies, resources, and programs used to create inclusive learning environments that enable all students to learn and succeed. Individuals taking this course must earn at least a B- for the course to count toward a preliminary credential. *40 hours of fieldwork are required. Section information text: Pre-req: EDUC 300 or EDUC 401 Requires Certificate of Clearance (COC). See Dept of Education and Child Development.
