Catalog description

What does it mean to always to be ready to make a defense (apologia) to anyone asking the reason (logos) for the hope within us? Does it mean trying to prove what we believe by faith? Reasoning about theological matters such as divine providence or the incarnation? Or does faith involve a trusting "leap" into what might seem by worldly standards irrational — even absurd? This course introduces students to the ways Aquinas, Pascal, Kierkegaard & Dostoevsky have approached questions such as these. (Open to Wheaton College Summer Institute students only)
